CHIPS

The Swedish group Chips was formed in 1979 by Kikki Danielsson and Lasse Holm.
In 1980 they came on 4'th place in the Swedish national final of Eurovision Song Contest with the song
"Mycke', mycke' mer" (A little bit of loving), along with background-singers Lars Westman, Lisa Magnusson, Mats Rådberg and Monica Silverstrand (at the time Barwén).
After the melody-contest the duo became a trio with Britta "Tanja" Johansson.
They gave out the LP "Chips" and shortly after that became Elisabeth Andreassen also a member of the group.

Just a few weeks after the trio became quartet Chips went to Germany on tour.
In Düsseldorf they did a TV-show called "Show-Express" that became a big success.
In 1981 the group competed in the Swedish national final of Eurovision Song Contest under the new name Sweets´n Chips, and came on second place with "God morgon" (Good morning).
A time later the group became half it's size, since the record-company director Bert Karlsson thought that one of the girls was to tall.

When Tanja had to leave the band took Lasse Holm a step back and left it all to Bettan and Kikki, but stayed as a songwriter for the girls.
In 1982 Elisabeth and Kikki won the Swedish national final of Eurovision Song Contest with "Dag efter dag" (Day after day).
They got back to be Chips once again, after the dispute that came up after their cooperation in the festival two years earlier, when a another band clamed that the name belonged to them, was solved.
The duo came on 8'th place in Eurovision Song Contest in Harrogate, Great Britain.

After the success in the Eurovision Song Contest they released the album "Having a party" that got sold in a good half of 100 000 copies in Sweden.
They did a tour around in Scandinavia and had a successfully year in 1982 with among others a pubshow at Hamburger Börs in Stockholm, Sweden.
Chips went in to the grave in 1983.
They had bigger hopes on success overseas and both Elisabeth and Kikki had their own individual careers to carry on with.
